Sign activities in the Kaipara District are regulated by the following key regulatory mechanisms:
- Council’s Signs Bylaw
- Council’s Sign Standards
- Council’s District Plan; and
- Waka Kotahi through their Signs (on State Highways) Bylaw 2010
Each of these mechanisms govern specific areas within the district and play a crucial role in safeguarding public safety, the integrity of our roading system and offer clarity to the public regarding regulations when using signs for various activities.
Clarification on when you need Council approval under the Bylaw can be found under clause 3 of the Sign Standards. With the jurisdiction of the other mechanisms further explained in the “related information” box found under clause 3 of the Sign Standards.
