Election
Triennial elections for elected members of all local authorities throughout New Zealand was conducted by postal vote on Saturday 08 October 2016.
The elections was conducted under the provisions of the Local Electoral Act 2001 and the Local Electoral Regulations 2001 and was administered under contract, by Election Services, for the Kaipara District Council.

Candidate information sessions were held on Monday 01 August 2016 and Tuesday 02 August 2016 at Dargaville and Kaiwaka respectively. The presentation is available to download here.
