A Contract for Service is a formal agreement for the delivery of a service in the Kaipara district to benefit Kaipara residents and visitors where there is a clearly recognised need for the services, and benefits to the community can be shown.
Applications for a Contract for Service are open at any time, and are:
- intended to fund a community group for delivery of a service which councils generally undertake, that provides benefit to the community and is available to members of the public e.g. maintenance of walking tracks, pest plant/noxious weed removal, cleaning and maintenance of rural public toilets, provision of community libraries
- required to have an appropriate level of health and safety requirements for the service being provided.
Approved applications are administered as part of Council's operational budget, and can be granted for up to three years. Where applications are not approved, Council will refer groups to other funding sources, and (if eligible) encourage groups to apply for the next round of Community Grants funding.
