What bags do I use?

Due to increasing costs reflected in the Consumer Price Index(CPI) and central government increases to the Landfill Waste Levy and the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), gate disposal costs at the Dargaville Transfer Station and blue (general refuse bag) and yellow (recycling bag) cost are changing.
From 1 July 2024 prices are:
- Dargaville Transfer Station gate charge per m3 - $80.00.
- Blue bag - $4.30
- Yellow bag - $2.00
Refuse Transfer Stations
There are two refuse/recycling transfer stations in the Kaipara District run by Council. You can see details in the Transfer Stations page and what they accept. Most recyclables are accepted at a small cost at Council facilities. Visit our recycling section to learn more.
Kerbside rubbish and recycling collection
